It has been literally around for centuries, and is considered to be one of the best traditional smoking methods ever.
Ceramic Pipes.
They are old but they are super effective. Today, these pipes are widely considered as an exotic pipe or a rare collectible. Of course, they are still manufactured. But traditionally designed, antique-looking ceramic pipes are often sold at very high prices. Nevertheless, every experienced smoker wishes to have a smoking experience with a ceramic pipe.
In this article, the team here at KC Smokz will be detailing the key characteristics of ceramic pipes for the uninitiated.
The Bad
Okay, we thought we should start with the cons first. Without further ado…
They are not very travel-friendly – That much is obvious considering the fact that they are ‘ceramic’. Most great ceramic pipes have wonderful designs. They look amazing. But it’s their design that makes it difficult for smokers to carry them in a pocket or a purse. If you don’t handle them very carefully during your travels, you may find them broken and your desire for a smoking sesh shattered.
They can give you a bad burn – They are made of ceramic which is a natural heat absorbent. So it can get very hot while in use. These pipes demand proper maintenance. So if you fail to clean it regularly, it can get hot enough to disrupt your smoking session as soon as you begin. Hold the pipe to the flame for too long, and your hands will get a bad burn.
They are not as versatile as some of their other counterparts – Take glass pipes for instance. They look cool and have a plethora of accessories. You can even improve the performance of glass pipes by using percolation or a diffusion accessory. Ceramic pipes, unfortunately, are too old school to be compatible with many accessories. The pipes’ unique designs are also to blame. You can of course have an incredible smoking session but you just can’t accessorize and turn it up a notch.
Time to look at the bright side.
The Good
They are durable – We know we just contradicted ourselves as we have mentioned earlier that these pipes can break. But that is if you don’t handle them carefully. Using glass pipes enables you to use a lot of accessories but glass pipes are even more fragile than ceramic pipes. If you accidentally drop your ceramic pipe, you will still find it intact. But drop your glass pipe and you will need to find the pieces.
The designs are just WOW – Ceramic pipes are made of clay, which means you can find a lot of unique designs at a great price. If you don’t believe us, drop by KC Smokz and check out our ceramic pipe collections. They look good in any smoking environment. There are exotic designs with bigger price tags, but mostly they are super affordable.
They are easy to clean – Get some salt and some rubbing alcohol. That’s all it takes to clean your ceramic pipe. Once you drop the salt and alcohol in the pipe, simply close all holes, shake it up and rinse with warm water. You can also get cleaning agents from our store if you want to do it methodically.
