However, there are several ways you can reduce your chances of enduring an unpleasant dry hit.

A dry hit usually happens when your cartomizer has run completely dry and there’s no juice to vape. It can also happen when there are other mechanical problems with your device. However, most of the dry hits are caused by human error, due to minor mistakes from your side. Some of the most common reasons for dry hits are discussed below.
Keeping your heating coil moist is the basic thing required to stay away from dry hits. To retain moisture, you should avoid over-vaping, chain vaping and vaping with too much voltage. Most of the new gen vaporizers can handle high voltage. However, some of the early ones are incapable. If you are experiencing regular dry hits, try using a lower voltage and see if you get rid of the dry hits.

Your tank is not empty? Then the next thing to look at is your coil. If you vape all the time and overuse your coil then the coil will wear down quickly. And you will get the dry hits. So, consider taking longer, slower drags and replace your coil as per manufacturer’s suggestion. You have taken care of all the points mentioned above, but still the problem persists and you continue getting dry hit? Then consider adjusting the amount of VG in your e-liquid. E-liquid that contains a high concentration of vegetable glycerin, is thick and can take longer for the wick to absorb.

Make sure you put sufficient cotton between the coils and change the cotton every time you put new e-juice in the tank. Insufficient cotton between coils always results in a dry hit. Overused cotton will be unable to soak enough e-juice causing a dry hit. If you are a novice vaper who just moved away from smoking, be careful to avoid chain vaping. Chain vaping is nothing but taking hasty, short puffs in succession expecting a stronger throat and head hit. This usually ends in a sudden dry hit.
