Difference between wax pen and oil pen

As the name implies wax pens are for wax only and enable portable vaping of wax. Likely, oil pens are compatible with thick or thin oils and are readily portable. Wax pens use a number of different types of atomizers, but oil pens are a little more finicky because of the temperature requirements for thinner concentrates. Wax vapes generally use an atomizer coil system. Eventually these coils burn out also burn the oil upon direct contact. That’s why most oil pens avoid coils and instead use fiberglass or plastic wicks or wickless ceramic heating cores. Plastic wicks soak up oil in order to heat it whereas wickless ceramic heating cores simply just heat it without absorbing the oil, the way that a ceramic dab nail would. Wickless tanks are known for their ability to preserve the flavor of the pen hit and are therefore preferred by some taste-minded vapers.

Disposable oil cartridges are very popular right now, making for easy clean up after their one-time use. There are also larger atomizers for oil vapes, like those for 510 threads or box mods. The atomizers in these vapes will last much longer, but will eventually need to be replaced like coils. Wax can be messy and overloading the chamber may cause big mess. Though, you can avoid the mess using caution and a handy dab tool. In the case of oil pen the pre-filled cartridges leave little to no mess. But you have to know about the cartridge and battery you are using. Too much energy flowing into a cartridge can burn it out, which can happen either over time or immediately.

Another difference between wax and oil pen is maintenance. We know wax is sticky and pretty messy so the vape pen can get sticky from chamber to mouth piece. Hence you have to replace the wax atomizer or coil, or need to scrap away excess wax. Oils are less thick than waxes, so naturally only an occasional scraping is enough.

Despite the differences both vape pens are known for being super portable. Both are discreet, small in size and slender devices.  More than anything else the operation of any vape pen is simple and easy!
